How to Register

Rules for Submission and Participation

  • 🧩 Thematic symposia must be proposed by researchers with a doctorate (in courses accredited by CAPES). Masters (in courses accredited by CAPES) may be part of the team, but may not individually propose Thematic Symposia.

  • 📚 Mini-courses may be proposed by masters or doctors (in courses accredited by CAPES).

  • 🗣️ Works for oral presentation at Thematic Symposia: minimum qualification of a degree in the areas of History and related fields such as Anthropology, Law, International Relations, Literature, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, etc.

  • 👩‍🔬 IC: Undergraduate students.

  • 👥 Listeners: general community.

Violence and Society: Analytical Perspectives on New Directions and Approaches

Hybrid Event

The VII National Symposium on Military History and the I International Symposium on Military History address, in this edition, the theme "Violence and Society: Perspectives of Analysis in the Context of New Paths and New Approaches". Held in a hybrid format, from November 3 to 6, 2025. The event seeks to bring together researchers, professors, students and professionals from the areas of History, Social Sciences, Strategic Studies and related disciplines to discuss in an interdisciplinary and critical way the relationships between armed conflicts, violence and their social implications.

Organized by Universidade Salgado de Oliveira (UNIVERSO), Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), ANPUH and Rede Hermes, this event promotes an enriching dialogue between theory and practice, with international conferences, round tables, thematic symposia, mini-courses and editorial launches, stimulating a deep reflection on historical and contemporary challenges in the area of military and strategic studies.
